ISO/TS 16949:2002 was developed by The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) together with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

ISO/TS 16949:2002 is an ISO Technical Specification, which aligns existing US, German, French, and Italian automotive quality system standards within the global automotive industry. The latest version is based on ISO 9001:2000 quality management system but with an even greater emphasis on process management. Basically, ISO/TS 16949:2002 contains the full requirements of ISO 9001:2000 - and then some.

ISO/TS 16949:2002 defines the quality system requirements for the design and development, production, installation, and servicing of automotive related products. This version of standardization focuses on the development of a quality management system that is dedicated to continual improvement, defect prevention, and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.

ISO/TS 16949:2002 also requires organizations to provide a clear definition of processes, a measurable dedication to customer satisfaction, and an ongoing analysis of customer needs.

This certification is applicable to all sites of the organization where customer-specified parts for production and/or service are manufactured.

Pentosin has also achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification. ISO 14001:2004 outlines the generic requirements for an environmental management system. ISO 14001:2004 provides the framework for a strategic approach to the organization's environmental policy, actions, and future plans.

ISO 14001:2004 requires an organization to take a serious look at its environmental impact. This certification is a tool used by management to identify and control the environmental impact of the organization's activities, products, or services. This certification also requires an organization to continually improve its environmental performance, implement a systematic approach to setting their environmental objectives, and demonstrate that these goals have been achieved.

Customers can count on the fact that Deutsche Pentosin-Werke GmbH has manufactured the complete line of Pentosin technical fluids within these guidelines and requirements.
